The Timberwolf TW 280FTRD uses a Kubota diesel engine producing approximately 44 hp (33 kW). Because diesel engines deliver strong torque at lower RPM, the machine maintains consistent performance during heavy chipping tasks.

The machine features the WolfTrack dual speed tracking system, which allows operators to switch between slow speed for rough terrain and faster travel speed for moving across site. As a result, it improves both productivity and control.
