Engine & drive

The FSI T27 operates using the tractor’s power take-off rather than its own engine. It connects through a 540 rpm PTO shaft, allowing the tractor to provide all driving power for the cutting system.

The machine typically requires a tractor with approximately 20–50 hp, making it suitable for compact and utility tractors used in arboriculture, estate maintenance, and agricultural work.

Power transfers through a durable belt-driven cutter wheel system. As a result, the drivetrain absorbs shock loads created during grinding while still delivering strong cutting performance.

Cutting head

The FSI T27 uses a large cutter wheel fitted with the FSI 25 tooth system, designed for aggressive cutting and efficient chip removal.

Hydraulic lift and side-to-side sweep movements allow the cutter head to move across the stump smoothly. Therefore, the operator can grind across a wide area without repositioning the tractor repeatedly.

The grinder provides a substantial working envelope, reaching approximately 80 cm above ground level and around 40 cm below ground level. Consequently, the machine can remove stumps thoroughly while also cutting deeper root structures.

Frame / chassis / build

The FSI T27 mounts to the tractor using a Category I or Category II three-point linkage depending on configuration.

The heavy-duty steel frame provides the stability needed for professional stump grinding. In addition, the rear-mounted design allows the tractor to provide stability and positioning during operation.

Because the grinder attaches directly to the tractor linkage, transport between job sites becomes simple and efficient.

Comfort & controls

The FSI T27 is controlled from the tractor seat using the tractor’s hydraulic controls and PTO engagement.

Because the operator remains seated in the tractor cab or operator station, visibility of the stump and working area remains clear while maintaining a safe working distance.

The hydraulic controls allow precise adjustment of cutter height and sweep movement, which improves grinding accuracy.
