Engine & drive

The FSI B23 offers two petrol engine options depending on specification. Buyers can choose either a 14 hp Kohler engine or an 11 hp Honda engine, both known for dependable performance and easy servicing.

Hydraulic 2-wheel drive (2WD) improves manoeuvrability compared with purely manual machines. As a result, operators can move the grinder around the stump with less effort while maintaining precise positioning.

The drivetrain transfers power through a robust belt system to the cutting wheel. Therefore, the machine maintains reliable grinding performance while keeping maintenance straightforward.

Deck / working head

The FSI B23 uses a redesigned cutter wheel housing combined with FSI’s proven cutting system. The grinding wheel is fitted with replaceable carbide teeth, which maintain sharp cutting performance and long service life.

Side-to-side sweep motion allows operators to remove stump material gradually and accurately. Because the machine removes material in controlled passes, it improves both safety and grinding efficiency.

In addition, the cutter head allows grinding above and below ground level, enabling the stump to be removed properly before the area is filled.

Frame / chassis / build

The FSI B23 continues the design approach used in the earlier B21 and B22 models while introducing several improvements. Its compact steel chassis keeps the machine durable while still allowing access through tight garden entrances and narrow pathways.

Hydraulic drive reduces the effort needed to reposition the grinder. Consequently, operators can focus on the grinding task rather than pushing the machine manually.

The redesigned cutter wheel housing also improves durability and access to service components.

Comfort & controls

A standout feature is Auto Sweep Release, an FSI system that automatically releases the sweep lock when the wheel brakes are activated. Therefore, the operator can reposition the grinder quickly without manually unlocking the sweep mechanism.
